Dethklok – The Dethalbum. This album was released in September 07′ by Williams Street. The album was ranked 21 on the Billboard 200 chart. Selling more copies in the first week than any death metal band before!!!
Dethklok is a cartoon band from the Adult Swim Network show Metalapocalypse.

I find it pretty interesting for a cartoon band to be the number one selling death metal band of all time. I guess it’s probably Nathan Explosion’s Death Metal style vocals that qualify them for death metal. The guitar playing in Dethklok is top notch. I find myself waiting for the solo’s to kick in every song since they are pure head banging metal quality! Not to mention the drum work provided in reality by the Atomic Clock Mr. Gene Hoglan a metal drumming master!! For a cartoon band this is great stuff! Created by Brendon Small who does the vocals and Axe work. He has made a fan out of me.
I have been listening to bands like Morbid Angel,Cannibal Corpse and Six Feet Under for years so death metal is not foreign to me. I wouldn’t necessarily say they are pure death metal but, this is some great metal on this album aside from the goofy lyrics.
My favorite songs on this album are Murmaider,Bloodrocuted,Go Forth and Die with it’s Opening Riff grabbed my attention quickly, great song. Better Metal Snake has a awesome high speed riff throughout that makes my wrist hurt just to think about it!!!!!
The Guitar Hero classic Thunderhorse!!!! Great song that I wore out the buttons on my guitar hero controller on by playing the song over and over again. Hatredcopter with it’s appearance of a Dave Mustaine style vocal mixed with a George “Corpsegrider” Fisher vocal sounds very cool and then add the very good guitar playing and drumming great song! I can list more songs but, I just want to say that this is probably the best metal album I have heard in a real longtime and I would recommend this album to anyone who like metal music! I own it and I still listen to it all the time!
